About Us

Electric Crown Apparel was built from a lifelong appreciation for prison artwork and the creativity that exists behind prison walls.

Since childhood, prison art has been part of our life — from hand-drawn birthday cards and custom cartoon characters sent through the mail, to portraits and artwork made on coffee mugs with surgical precision. Over the years, we have spoken directly with hundreds of incarcerated artists and seen firsthand the level of skill, patience, and creativity that often goes unnoticed.

What started as collecting artwork grew into something larger. We reach out to artist and offer certain assistance that allow us to place these designs onto shirts, hats, prints, and other products so the art can be seen outside the walls it was created in.

At Electric Crown, we believe art exists everywhere — including on prison yards. While some people spend their time lifting weights or earning degrees, others dedicate themselves to mastering art. Many of these artists improve year after year, creating work with a level of detail and originality that deserves recognition.

Electric Crown Apparel exists to showcase that creativity and give prison-inspired artwork a platform beyond the cell.
